Went a little nuts with carbs yesterday -- um, yeh, me and cheese popcorn go wayyy back. I was having a bit of a freak-out about a personal thing. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Was shocked to see I'd lost weight this AM. But I've worked out 5 of the last 7 days, so that's probably got something to do with it. There's still something about high-carbs on occasion that boosts me. That's why I've been adding the once-a-week carb backload, but it didn't seem to do much this past weekend. But last night it did. Go figure. There's something there, and I don't think anyone has really put their finger on exactly how it works -- but the carb backload folks (or maybe carb-night folks) are close; the closest there is right now. I really wish science would nail this stuff down, so those of us struggling with it aren't simply left with scratching our heads. Oh well. I can't complain, I messed up, but lost anyway. Still keeping my daily avg pretty solid, so I guess it isn't that odd.

carb backloading... i call it involuntary indulgence days. and yes those are always carbs (usually mixed with salt)

Hey, @Maud. You're exactly right. I've been doing the carb backloading on the weekends with mixed results. I'm sure there's a little more to how it should be done properly than I'm finding info on online. I know it is right, because it works surprisingly well for me. But I also know there is some piece missing from the common knowledge available today on it -- as my results with it aren't always consistent. Sometimes it works when I expect it to, other times it doesn't, and then there are times I'm sure it won't work (like the other day when I had that unplanned explosive indulgence), but it works better than usual. It's odd. I bet in another few years they'll add a few more rules to it that even that wobbliness out. I wish I could put my finger on it.
