Katsolo's Journal, 16 June 2021

Early weight, but also cake, so we'll see where we land tomorrow. Swam before class, 859 strokes, 10.3 METs, average heart rate at 144. Effort spread fairly evenly between the three zones, so I'm good with that. I notched the current up one, and I think I'm almost exactly where I like it given the range on effort. I want it to get harder as I go. Hard fail on steps though at 5.8K, I'll need to watch that as it gets hotter. Hate walking in the heat, but need to keep moving.

in the personal growth column, I've been dressing down at class due to some unpleasant interactions with other humans and I didn't want to call attention to myself for various reasons. Hair up, no makeup, glasses, nondescript baggy clothes, etc. Bit me in the butt last night as someone decided to play photographer with the dogs and I'm in a number of the shots because I was leading. Lesson learned. Carry pepper spray for humans and dress like I normally do. I'm not planning on wearing a sequined gown, but I'm going to elevate it slightly from yard work clothes.

The cake was phenomenal as always, the fish is in the freezer while I figure out how to separate a bunch of steaks that got frozen together. I think it's first freeze, so I might be able to defrost in the fridge enough to pull them apart and freeze individually, but I need to have a plan.

I hugged a number of humans I'm not related to or in a relationship with. It's nice for things to be more normal. We also had a fabulous sunset at the end of the night. Heat seems to have broken today. Life is good. Press on, press on.

Maybe a sharp knife 🔪 can separate the pieces.

that's kinda the way I'm thinking, too, LambiePi. It was so hot yesterday, so since they were already frozen I just tossed them into the deep freeze, I will defrost a bit in the fridge tomorrow and try to figure it out in the afternoon. I don't see any way to avoid a second freeze, but it should be okay.

If your knife is sharp, you might bot need to defrost.

my method was to fill sink with cool water and let sit maybe 20 minutes I would never defrost in a microwave so it is a way I use with everything

I usually just put them in a baggie and put a corner of a counter where the steaks meet/are frozen together and then give it a good whack. 9/10 times this works.

Horizontal stripes to boot, DP. With me yelling instead of smiling or posing. Delightful.

Great photo. Good decision to wear what you want. Other humans can be so annoying.

Ugh! So annoying that you have to figure out how to dress. Good to hear you got some hugs in. And of course another beautiful photo. ❤

I got whistled at on my walk this evening...I remember someone yelling out "call the whale patrol" when I was 250+ pounds- so this was a nice change. 😂 There was probably a pretty girl jogging behind me. I didn't dare turn around to check. Just pretended it was all me.

I have a homeless dude “courting” me at that park and he yells very inappropriate things, so i started dressing like a dude. Pics are the downside.

I do not miss those days. The times I would get the most upset was when stupid jerks would say stupid things when I was with my kids! Idiots! DP, I am certain the recent compliment was intended for you. Horrible what that insulting jerk said long ago! 😡

Kat, so sad when dealing with the homeless, so many suffer from mental illness. You're wise in not drawing attention, but something tells me you would be noticed even in a paper sack. 😊😍

Oh Katsolo you got the best shot!👍 My mother wore $300, pair pants gardening, she was drop dead gorgeous, but a bit crazy!🙃 Always carry pepper spray! I preach that!! On ID she sprayed the guy, but was still murdered. 😖 But, they were able to catch the guy because he was stained blue with her spray In prison for life! He would have never been caught without stain on him, it doesn’t wash off. Worth having if not just for a rabid raccoon or coyote. Have a Tremendous Thursday!👍🌸🌺🌼

defrost anything in cold water. Use two bowls on inside the other, or a sealed baggie directly in water. Change water a few times to spead the process.
