Triedandtrue's Journal, 24 January 2014

Well well, another week and still decent progress. I have to admit I got very excited when I stepped on the scale on Wednesday morning and read 200.5! But I think it was a fluke/water weight thing. Still nice to see the graph going down.

Although I'm making steady progress, I can feel myself starting to get frustrated. Part of this is because I haven't been making enough time to exercise as I aught to, and part may just be my old pattern of "do healthy stuff for a couple weeks and then make excuses and quit." I'm sure I'm going to face much more difficult battles as I keep on with this program and probably get to places where I'm plateauing.

I need to keep a positive mindset as much as possible, so here's a self-pep-talk that you can use too!

A. This is working!
B. See A!
C. If I want more progress I can have one less beer per week.
D. Exercising relieves stress and low moods AND burns calories at the same time. You feel better when you exercise!
E. This is still working, even if you feel a little down at the moment. Keep going!

This next week is going to be an added challenge because we'll be traveling and staying with friends. Lots of opportunities to eat rich foods, drink extra beer, etc. But also lots of opportunities for walking, as we won't have a car and will have to get around with public transport. So my goal will be to maintain my current weight for another week during this trip (eating as healthily as possible and getting physical exercise every day) then get back to losing when we return.
201.5 lb Lost so far: 3.5 lb.    Still to go: 21.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
