cylon76's Journal, 18 January 2014

Started running yesterday (super soft start). I ran around the track 3 times, so 3/4 of a mile. I want to get to where I can run a 5K with my son this spring/early summer.
I'm eating well. Not cutting out carbs completely, which is what I used to do. Instead, I'm eating beans, chick peas, brown rice, and Fiber One whole wheat wraps. That way, I don't feel deprived, and I have enough energy to do things like work out and run. Being strong is a new focus for me. Up to now, I've always just wanted to be thin. But now, I'm finding that I want to be physically strong and resilient.
I'd like to maybe play a sport (for the first time in my life). Have to think about that one more.
I can say that I'm sleeping soundly, feel energetic, even-keeled, and much less depressed.
I kept track of my measurements, for the first time. Usually I avoid the reality of what my measurements are. But this time, I wanted to know the full reality of what I'm dealing with. I've lost 1.5" on my waist, 2.25" on my hips, 1.25 inches on my thigh, and 1.5" on my arm. Pretty good![/color]
170.6 lb Lost so far: 4.4 lb.    Still to go: 15.6 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
losing 1.6 lb a week
