RealtorInTx's Journal, 08 April 2009

Okay...I'm in Phase 1 on Day 6 (FatSmash start date: 3 Apr 09).
I know I wasn't supposed to weigh-in until the morning of Day 10, but I couldn't help myself...had to take a peek! When I weighed in on Day 4, I'd lost 6 pounds! I know it's mostly water and all, but it's been Very motivating!

I haven't been as successful with the exercise part, though.
I've only walked 15mins...back on Day 2.
BUT...that's changing today!

My husband bought a new DVD player last night (our other one broke) and I picked up some exercise DVDs from Half-Priced Books. I'm going to have to do my 30mins of cardio for each of the remaining days of Phase 1, including today (in order to do the 5 days as suggested by Dr Smith).

The good news is that I woke up today feeling energized! My withdrawal symptoms from the lack of caffeine have finally begun to subside. I no longer feel as though I'm walking around in the Twilight Zone. Whew...what a relief!

On my way to workout...wish me luck!

You can do it. You don't need luck--you just need to plan. ;) I am on day 7. One piece of advice I will give is make sure you are eating at the recommended intervals (or close to it) and prepare healthy snacks and plan in advance what you are going to be eating. I have been doing fine, except during the late afternoons when I am feeding my 1 yr-old son. That is the time of temptation for me.

Thank you both so much for your encouragement! I'm doing pretty good planning the diet portion...it was just the physical part that I was having difficulty with. I feel much better after my workout today! Because I used to belong to WW, I'm a fanatic when it comes to 'journaling' my daily food intake. In fact, I'm currently using the same kind of journal diary...only instead of recording the Points value, I record the 'time' I eat! It's been very helpful in keeping me on track with what I'm eating and when. Before I started FSD, I made up my menus for each of the 9 Days of Detox. Of course, since then, I've swapped out a few items for some of the delicious new recipes I've been trying (found some Great recipes on-line for Phase 1). Now, if you knew me you would know what a Huge deal that is! Truly, I do NOT like to cook! The only reason I even have a kitchen is because it came with the house! :0) Thank goodness my husband Loves to cook, so when he's not in the kitchen 'taking over', he's in there cheering me on! :0) Thanks again for your encouraging words!

Hi! I am a former WW member as well so I find journaling easy to do. I "cheated" and got on the scale this morning and found that I have lost 3.6 pounds already. I'm so excited and I plan on kicking up my exercising a notch. Right now I just do 30 minutes of cardio. Why not do 45 minutes? Yeah..easy to say now huh? LOL! Keep up the good work and it's great that you have a cheerleading/cooking husband (so do I)!

Hi Thindray! Thank you and Congrats on your weight loss...Great job!!! I really felt pumped today and did 30mins of yardwork with my husband after doing 30min on my treadmill. I'm so glad I'm over-the-hump on the Detox phase, but Day 9 for me is this Saturday. I'm starting to see and feel the changes in my body and it's really got me wired to stick to it! LOL Aren't the guys awesome? It makes doing this sooooo much easier! BTW: I sent you a personal message through this website's email. Hope you got it!
