A vacation from our diets during travel? When I went to Italy, I gained 10 pounds, when I went to China I gained 7 pounds. Was it worth it??? NO, because that is what I am trying to lose now. To do it over I would have just had a bit of whatever instead of eating it all. Hindsight! One of my future trips will be a river cruise in Europe, you can bet I will be more aware this time, I plan to be at goal weight before I go and I have no desire to gain and have to lose it again. I think it is easier to keep it off when all is said and done. Vacation is rough. I am looking at your weight loss chart and it is impressive. Good for you, and keep up the good work.

I usually try to plan my diet along with my vacations. Sure I will try some various foods on my vacation, but I will try to eat at leat 2 meals a day within my diet. But that's just me. I would say at least try to eat fruit throughout the day to help offset sugar cravings. I wish you well.

Thank you for the comments and encouragement. I think WECANDOTHIS sums up the answer best with a caps lock 'NO'. I ended up eating whatever was available to eat, but I ate smaller portions. Thanks to my handy G1 app I was able to pick my meals easier on the road. Thanks!! ;)

Ugh, when my family vacations, it equals constant eating...and I do mean constant. I try to plan out my eating in advance if possible and bring lots of healthy snacks along with me (to fill me up so I don't eat too much "bad" food). It's really hard when everyone around you is stuffing themselves with good food. I try to eat healthy and then use one meal to treat myself, but nothing to horrible. Just enough that I feel that I'm getting something out of the norm to enjoy.
