Had a friend tell me that she feels like she's "being deprived of being able to live her life" these past few months and that she's "losing days". I'm paraphrasing a much longer conversation, but what she said makes sense on a lot of levels. This wasn't a rally against government orders, but a venting of frustration and it resonated. The question is what can she/we/me do about it? I don't have answers, if I did, I'd write a book, make millions and get out of town. So we go go Plan B. Keep doing what I'm doing here. Logging, moving, eating as well as I can and not lapsing into bad habits. FS is a place for mostly good supportive conversations and I appreciate it. We're all going through what is literally a 100 year event. Some are going through even worse. I've recently cut ties to some people I consider emotional vampires. No one here. Just people who use and use and never give back. Too much going on to be their lifelines, especially if they refuse to get help. I'm doing mostly okay, focusing on different things, just trying to keep my life together so I can support my family and loved ones best I can. Didn't swim, didn't walk, spent a long day at work (on a Friday!) and then on the phone. Happens. Did some improv leg lifts and squats while talking, so it wasn't wasted time, although I still loathe the phone.

Sitting outside this morning, I love outside time. There's a lot I need to keep doing with the yard. Gets overwhelming sometimes. I have a ton of cherry tomatoes on the way. I say a ton, but since I eat about five at time, that's not as many as you'd think.

Weekend trapped in my house stuff to do today. Think I'll do a half waffle this morning.

I understand this feeling of being deprived of life. You are doing great if you are "just trying to keep your life together so you can support your family and loved ones best you can". BTW, I like the phone because it allows me to walk while I talk, much better than videoconferencing!

I thought my friend did a great job putting the feeling into words. She’s home with her husband and five daughters, the eldest came home from college and I totally get what she’s saying. As for me, 😝 i hate video calls even more. They make me have to sit still and pretend to pay attention (at work). The problem is the people that call want to talk for an hour even if there’s not an hour full of conversation. I do better with a headset though. Texting is my favorite medium. Short bursts, to the point, can walk back into the room.

I am sure you have a busy weekend planned indoors, but I hope you are finding some time to get outside and enjoy some fresh air and some nature time. Even if it’s just to eat one of your meals al fresco. Don’t be like me, the mommy zombie. You have a healthy outlook that I really respect and admire. Keep being awesome, Kat.
