Weighed in for challenge purposes only so I could record mileage walked for that challenge. But I will say I'm actually fairly close to 187, so there just might be something to that caution on Atkins bars slowing weight loss. I've dropped a solid 2 pounds in this last week (versus 1- to slightly-over-1-pound losses)and I've gone several days without any sugar alcohols. The only significant difference has been dropping the sugar alcohols. I'm still testing this theory, however, as I truly thought the sugar alcohols didn't affect me!

We had a lecture about sugars in our last weight group and they said those sugar alsohols are lethal as the body is fighting the alchol first and stores the sugars which are less dangerous, until the next sugar feast, Think the atkins bars doing the same. I use slimfast bars, had to cut them down this week because of blisters on my gums, to painful to eat and even though i've not been brill on food this week, even had toast and jam, my weight seems the same on the scales. The bars are really only for emergancy or if going to have one you have to really plan to stick totally to what every plan you are and not deviate away from it.

I stopped eating those Atkins bars, they really halted my weight loss when I was on Atkins and it took a few weeks to get back on track. Maybe my imagination, but that seemed to be the only link. After that i started losing again. I only started eating them to be able to get enough net carbs. By the end of the day I would have one after supper as dessert. Now I reserve them for only emergencies, I always keep one in my purse and one in my desk at the office, although I can say I haven't eaten one in weeks.

I use the bars for emergencies only... cravings etc.. and I try to limit it to half or a third. It seems to work just fine. :)

Dude! (Always wanted to say that to someone.) Sounds like a good idea, but the kind of bar I really like is already so small, I don't know if I could even cut, or bite off, a piece that was just 1/3. Maybe it's my imagination, but this last batch of bars (Endulge type) seemed like they came out even smaller!
