mattvitt's Journal, 01 October 2010

Today I finished the first pre-start webinar of Dr. Mark Hyman's The Diabesity Perscription. I have diabetes and am on an insulin pump--which has worked out very well. My daily, wake-up blood sugars dropped from the high 160s to around 110. Have not been on it long enough to see what that will do to my A1c. Will not be too surprised if it drops to below 7.

The current diet started from the Amen Clinic's Change Your Body, Change Your Life. I have been following what that book said, more or less, and I lost five pounds in three weeks. This was after gaining 10 lbs when my blood sugar came under control with the pump.

The Diabesity Perscription is not cheap, however. It cost about $300 to join and the first thing they want me to do is spend $400 on vitamins and supplements. Well, I spent a lot more on my diabetes over the past three years and still felt like crap. So, in for a penny, in for a dollar
278.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 98.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.
