Djburney's Journal, 19 December 2012

Major stressful morning with work yesterday, I was the backup plan to a project and Murphy's law hit me over and over and only because of one very kind person was my butt saved. I'm glad people like me and want to help me. I really needed it yesterday.

Still, with all that stress, I did not turn to food for comfort. I'm still amazed that I have overcome emotional eating. It doesn't even make sense to me now. If I'm worried about work or relationships, how is getting fat again going to make me feel better? Getting thinner makes me feel lots better. Putting on a pair of jeans that don't squeeze the fat around my middle makes me feel better. Feeling confident in myself makes me feel better. Being able to go hiking makes me feel way better!

Eating cookies makes me feel awful. So why would I choose cookies over all of those other wonderful things?

Sorry that it has been stressful but so happy that you had a 'friend' ready to swoop in and save you!!! It is wonderful that you have beat the stress eating and the emotional roller coaster of food. That speaks volumes and I know you will succeed!

It's HUGE! I wish I knew why it happened, why it is different, but it is probably a culmination of books I've read, pain I've overcome through surgery and weight loss, getting older and wiser, and trying to fight the "getting older" part! And of course, the support that I have through my FS buddies, that is invaluable.
