I am so bummed! I finally get on the scale this morning after being a week away, and I GAINED!?! For the first time in a year, I got PO'd and said "Not fair!" I exercised diligently every single day, and ate to program. I didn't cheat! I even FEEL slimmer in my waist and belly. So what is going on? ***SORRY FOR THE RANT*** Somedays I wish I had stayed in bed.
203.5 lb Lost so far: 4.5 lb.    Still to go: 68.5 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

After leaving here all bummed out, I went to my emails, and found my first Morningcoach.com email. Jamie Glossinger is the number 1 podcast at iTunes, and he's all about having a great attitude and living your best life, etc. Well, although this morning was about abundance and money, he actually spoke directly to me about PERSEVERENCE. He said those that succeed and reach their goals are the ones who keep doing the right thing EVERY SINGLE DAY. They don't give up. They keep their eye on the goal, and keep doing the right things every day. Well, there ya go. I am not looking for a short term goal here. My goal is LIFETIME fitness, slimness and health. So. One bad reading on the scale is only a tiny blip on my radar. Back in the saddle. Back to work. Yah. I got it covered. Thanks for your encouragement, VY!

Now that is a great attitude. I was letting the scale ruin my day for about a week there but then one day I just said to myself that as long as I am doing things right and there's no reason for the gain, then eventually it's just going to drop off. You're going to make it! Stick with your plan! I like your attitude!

Probably just a fluke, water retention or ?? If your clothes are loser, then that's all that matters!! :) Keep on kickin' it up!

Since you followed the plan and exercised daily you probably gained muscle and lost fat. Muscle weighs more than fat does. So keep it up!

I agree with bully-- the number on the scale is not the only thing that matters. If you're feeling thinner and clothes are fitting better, you're making progress. Drink lots of water and keep doing what you're doing! Perseverance is definitely the answer.

Way to go getting that positive attitude working! It's not all about the scale anyway. Of course, we want to be thin but I was probably more excited about my recent blood work (lipids) than about losing 40 lbs. Both my parents had/have heart disease and I was headed straight for the same. My labs did an about face and I am so glad I am back on the road to good health. The scales will move if you keep doing the right thing. Rest assured, your health and body is improving! I didn't take my measurements before/after but wished I had. I recommend you do that if you haven't already so you can see your losses in other ways besides just the scales. I agree that you may be gaining muscle, retaining water, many things that alter those scales. Don't fret at all. You're on your way!

Nice message from Jamie! Never heard of him but am now curious! I love listening to motivational speakers! They help us remember how to put things into perspective. Don't let this little blip stand in the way. Don't forget! Muscle weighs more than fat!!! =)

I think that this has happened to all of us. Try not to get discouraged (I know it's hard). Hang in there and stay on track and the weight loss will catch up to you!
