Status and a question.

Status:
Yay -- another small movement in the right direction.

Skipped the workout this morning -- very tired and needed to catch up on my sleep. That means I need to find some alternative exercise of some sort during the day. Otherwise I'll sit at my desk all day.

Coming up is the weekend. My goal is to lose 1 pound over the weekend. So on my Monday morning weigh-in I would like to weigh 195.5. I often gain a pound over the weekend. Here are the keys to doing that over the weekend for me:
1) Eat 3 planned meals each day
2) Planned snacking only
3) No more than 2 drinks Saturday evening
4) Very little food at the party Saturday evening

Question: Any good strategies for limiting the food you eat at a party? I am pretty good at limiting the number of drinks, but food is really hard.
196.5 lb Lost so far: 0.5 lb.    Still to go: 11.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

The weird thing is that I don't think I eat at a party because I'm hungry. I think it's more of a combination of experience / awkwardness / boredom. To elaborate: the food LOOKS good and interesting, so I want to experience it. I'll sometimes find the conversations at a party awkward, so I excuse myself, or fill in the conversation gaps with food. I sometimes find the conversation at a party boring, so I eat for entertainment.
