I am getting very fustrated. I feel like I try and try and am not getting anywhere. I feel like I have been reasonably well since returning from vacation with eating and workout, not stellar, but not where I am gaining weight!

I just hope that this week is a better week.
171.8 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 41.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Maybe you need to change things up a bit. Add in some different exercise. If you run a lot, add in intervals (it's been shown in studies to help you burn more calories and rev up your metabolism). Think of your metabolism as an engine. You need to fuel it properly for it burn the most efficiently. Protein metabolizes better than any other food. Start your day with some protein and fruit. Try eating 5 or 6 smaller meals wit some protein at each meal to keep your blood sugar level and you more full. Kashi cereal is a good choice. Really concentrate on putting healthy foods in to your body and watch your caloric intake. Be really honest and strict for a week and see what happens. Also note that when you change your current exercise program, your muscles can retain water and effect the scale. Getting in shape takes a lot of time and effort. If you only put in a so-so effort, you will get so-so results. You can do it.
