Girl_Illa's Journal, 21 April 2008

I'm just a little bummed. I am up 2.8 lbs. But I'm also a little, um, constipated again. I know, I know. You are sick and tired of hearing me complain about my lack of movements! LOL Anyway, I really did eat well (healthy and to program) all weekend. I over exercised on Saturday, so took Sunday off. But I cleaned house like a crazy woman when unexpected guests called. With hubby finally home, cleaning was not my priority before the call.

I'm not terribly upset by the gain. I know it's temporary. I dressed for church yesterday in a pair of trousers I have not worn in 2-3 years. And they were not tight in the least! I felt pretty again. Twice in a week! I like the feeling. I'm not giving up, and I'm not going back. I love the feeling of loving myself here and now. What's the use of giving myself affection only when the scale drops?? My body and I are in this together, and we're doing the best we can.

Oh, and Luuvd, thanks for the visual idea. I will try that. Yesterday we had some new recipes, and after each dish, I looked down and my plate was clean!! That didn't thrill me. My goal for this week is to really really focus on my eating, and how I feel. I think there is definitely a clue there.
207.8 lb Lost so far: 0.2 lb.    Still to go: 72.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I'm there with ya in the feeling frustrated with the scale.. but also in the feeling so much better when you can fit into smaller clothes again! I think we need to focus on that as well as the scale. Sometimes the actual weight doesn't mean as much as our internal feeling-- let that carry you through. The more positive you are, the better your losses! By the way, glad your hubby's home. Enjoy your time together!

Nope, I'm not sick or tired of the discussion of your lack of movements. Oprah called it the commonality of human experience. We all gotta do it. I'm impressed with your positivity and focus on the nice fiting trousers and feeling good in the face of a disappointing number. It's not easy, and it's natural to feel a bit bummed, but you chose to focus on the positive - yay!

Good for you for being able to get dressed up and feeling pretty!! I'm sure things will be better once you get some COFFEE in ya! =D lol Hope things start moving along soon. :) Have a great day and keep up the great work! Oh,.. on trying not to clean the plate... I have found that I CANNOT do that. I HAVE to clean it, plain and simple, I feel like it's wasting money if I do not. SO... instead, I am sure to load my plate with 1/2 portions. If I clean it and am still hungry... I try to wait, but then go back for the veggies first, and eat another 1/2 serving. If I feel that I am truly hungry still, I then go for a 1/2 serving of the protein. Maybe this could work for you too? I have found that I can eat such smaller amounts and rarely need to go back for more. :) Good luck!

I feel like we are in the same boat...not really the boat I wanna be in but here we go, lol! I'm glad the coffee is working for you. I guess I must be immune to that trick. I think Benefiber is calling my name! Way to go on losing those inches!

the south beach book recommends metamucil for those problems. It also says it can help lower the glycemic index of a meal if you take it 15 minutes prior to eating. Its made of psyllium which is a natural non-soluble fiber. Don't worry about a temporary little gain, they happen. Usually if you stay right on program or tweak your program a little the weight will come off right away and take some extra with it by the end of the week.

I soooo understand you. I'm in the same situation: not losing and doing the best I can do. I guess patience is the key here.

Congrats on fitting in those trousers! That's great! I feel for you with the "problem" because I have that problem too. It seems like a lot of people do.
