Restart number ??. I'm hesitant to post because I've struggled so much over the past year or so with diet after getting to goal before that and I don't want to be hypocritical. I know what to do, have done it before, but just haven't succeeded in getting it done for a while. It's been a tough year in a number of ways but that's just an excuse. Having heart disease and 5 stents, eating the way I have been is asking for trouble. So I'm on day 3 now of low carb, so far so good.

This is so true for all of us Jim...there is no "silver bullet" relief as unhealthy weight gain and inactivity are lurking and ever present at our age. The mind is our biggest defense against this, as long as it is "engaged". So glad to see you back old buddy!!!

Thanks Ches, Bill, and Steven. I think the mind can be a great defense, and also a great obstacle if we allow it to work against us. For me, mindset is what makes or breaks it. Can't allow myself to be controlled by outside circumstances.

Ditto Jim, many of us struggle with the health and weight issues surrounding it, but doing it in a vacuum of people who aren’t doing the same makes it harder. 🙇🏻‍♀️I stopped posting for awhile because of horrific health issues and not wanting to ‘drag others down.’ And instead had no chance to be lifted up by them instead! 🙋🏻They are here and wonderful! 🙆🏻‍♀️💕

I've been on and off this site for several years. Always starting again; always trying to get and keep my weight off. It is a difficult road to travel, this weight problem. Those of us that have this issue know the frustration of fighting ourselves constantly. We all have lost and gained and lost and gained. We just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep working on it. I know right now I have God on my side. You might blow off the fact that God can help you, but He has the power and the ability to help us through any struggle. Keep trying and you will succeed.

Here ,please lay down on my couch - Repeat after me, I am at the point I am now and this is where I start , period - History means nothing - I had the same thing happen to me and I am down 40 since october 15 or 1st or whatever - Don't beat yourself up, you are great - Start today, nobody is harder on ourselves than us - I think disappointment is what you feel but don't - We all have been there - I posted a chocolate almond fudge recipe on my whatever place on fatsecret and it has 1 carb and 1 sugar per serving - I had a moment after I ate that - WOW - My freind is a ATKINS person and she is gonna give me some low sugar low carb recipes and I will share in the near future - Please say to yourself, I can do this, I can do anything, I want this, I want this, I want this, I want this and then you get it, you get it , you get it - This is a lifestyle and you cannot believe the stuff you can eat - Please check out all of the goremay sheffs out there and there is some 4 star stuff there, with little or no sugar or carbs - Go Green, When not if, You got this, BOOM!!!!

Welcome back Jim. The struggle continues for many of us, myself included. That's why I'm still trying to do my maintenance here...

Glad to see you back. I too have a tendency to disappear then come back, up several lbs. It's a bummer, isn't it? I think we've got the best support group on this site. Steve..... I am at the point I am now and this is where I start period - History means nothing - This is the exact same thing my therapist said to me. Good to hear it again.
