HCB's Journal, 09 October 2015

Greetings Best Buddies,

Two days of training conference are done - four more to go! I did two pretty strong workouts, and have logged my food easily. I brought foods to eat as breakfast and lunch, and just eat dinner with the group. I stay with the protein and veggies.

Man, you would be amazed how much food they are serving! Huge breakfast spread of eggs, sausage, potato, etc. (I make my Bulletproof coffee) Then two hours later, a break with pastries, yogurts, etc. ( I eat a hard boiled egg or some avocado) Then 90 minutes later they have a full hot lunch ( I drink a protein shake after my 60 minutes in the gym) After lunch, they have another break with chips and candy and soda! ( I eat a handful of almonds) which takes them two hours later to a big dinner spread!

I cannot imagine eating that much! I never did eat that much even before weight loss! Talk about over indulgence!

Words of the week: NEVER.GIVE.UP

I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

you are doing great! One thing I've always wondered is, all of those options that they offer... does anyone actually eat all of it... or is it supposed to be providing lots of options that people pick and choose from? I've always wanted to watch a "normal eater" through a day like that, picking and choosing what to eat based on hunger, not because it's there. I usually want to eat it just because it is presented to me without checking in on my hunger level, first.

My goodness, that is a lot of overindulgence, but I do remember what those conference feeding troughs used to look like, and I am guilty if helping to plan some of that. I think we were hoping to get folk there (with food) and keep them awake during our boring presentations. LOL! Really impressed with your discipline. That is wonderful, and a good example for us. It is important to plan ahead isn't it, to avoid being food sabotaged at functions.

@ I love that! " food troughs" lol. Fortunately presentation is not boring but I watch people have their sugar crashes throughout the day...really interesting to observe . There are several of us who are healthy eaters and we seem to congregate!

HCB, you are doing amazingly well sticking to your eating plan and getting your exercise in. I would have probably eaten at least some breakfast and lunch but would pick and choose things that fit me and small amounts. It amazes me watching what people eat sometimes and the kinds of food provided by companies. I watch so many at work eat and eat junk or piled plates of food and watch their size increase and their health decrease. 8 years in the same dept of mostly women.

Way to go!! I agree about the snacks/food schedule. At my last training, their idea of breakfast was a small muffin, small yogurt and fruit.
