Look up Insulin…an Undeserved Bad Reputation by James Krieger.

Also to piggy back on that info, even if insulin is high from foods, it only spikes after eating then slowly backs down and normalizes, and when people sleep (typically after 8 hours) it’ll be back to normal. Even if insulin is produced In higher amounts regardless, when in a caloric deficit, Fat loss will still happen. If that wasn’t the case then the professor who lost 37lbs of body fat by only eating junk food, wouldn’t happen, look up the infamous “Twinkie diet” for more info on that.

You can also view my thread on My Fitness Pal where I did the same thing except with added Ice cream and Pizza. It's in the Debate forum and is called "CICO, still skeptical? Come inside for a meticulous log that proves it." http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10348650/cico-still-skeptical-come-inside-for-a-meticulous-log-that-proves-it

I had a guy get on my arse once upon a time for sharing, inspiring, and encouraging people to Keto, the rationality being that I'm not a doctor and have no business offering nutritional or health advice.

Honestly the more I think about it the more ridiculous it seems that people with no health conditions worry about sugar in fruits

DO U hon. It's working! U are inspiring to me and FYI watermelon did not make me FAT I did!

People that are healthy should keep doing whatever they're doing to stay that way. I just don't like fruit.

Even people on keto need electrolytes to process their foods and, guess what? LOL This is where they come from. LOL You push Himalayan salt and/or eat some small servings of fruits and veggies! Especially green leafy veggies and fruits like watermelon and banana that contain potassium. And I know Phil eats his greens! LOL Which by the way, I found turnip greens at my local market! 🙋🏻Haven’t bought any yet. Was gonna try to figure out how to prepare them first.

I'm a vegetable carnivore. That doesn't even make sense, but it's true. lol I like the veggie fruits, like avocado and tomato.

Exactly, Rosio19, it doesn't make sense when you think about it. As I've mentioned before, an overabundance of food is not something all humans on this planet enjoy. Claiming that carb calories are superior at keeping life-saving weight on your body is just wrong. Carbs do not magically create extra energy no matter how unhealthy you are.

The Glycemic Index of watermelons is 72, which higher than table sugar (63). Just putting that out there.

🤣

Is the glycemic index something to be concerned with or should I be concerned if I eat just the chicken, wait 2 hours, eat just the watermelon and wait 2 hours, etc. Or just eat the chicken watermelon, and (name a starch) and some dark green vegetables, negate the '72' GI reading for watermelon and call it a meal?!?

Hi, I’m confused about sugar! How much sugar should I be eating a day? Like what is an acceptable amount? I don’t mean added sugar, I try not to eat processed food and don’t add sugar to anything, but overall sugar? Google is making me more confused! Any help would be appreciated 🙂

Terrapin n tricco I have never paid attention to those things cause I don’t have diabetes or anything that involves sugar problems. I had two pregnancies n never was I told I have any health issues (non whatsoever) . My focus is trying to find my mantaince calorie intake count( I’m still figuring it out) I try to eat 80% Whole Foods (health full of nutrients) n 20% not nutrient dense food (so I won’t feel deprive n won’t feel the need to binge) Of course I count fruit as Whole Foods. *When I lost most of my weight (+70 pounds) my focus was also to eat in a calorie deficit + trying to eat 80% Whole Foods (health full of nutrients) n 20% not nutrient dense food (so I won’t feel deprive n won’t feel the need to binge

To lose weight u don’t have to worry about anything else but calorie deficit n to be healthy and lose weight u have to mostly eat healthy food n be on a calorie deficit. (Period)

Thank you Rosio, I don’t have much weight to lose and I try hard to eat healthy (lots of fruit and veg and natural whole foods). I just worry about the amount of hidden sugar I consume. Thanks for the advice ❤️
