What a slug I was this morning; slept in till 5! Didn't plan a workout for this morning. Figured I would get some rest. Got the rest of the concrete pillars out of the play area last night. Began tilling up the soil so it would be easier to move around, and level it. There is a definite slope to the area, and the ground has to be perfectly level before I install the playset. So, I'll run a string level tonight, and start building up the low end before tamping it all down. Will probably border it with landscaping timbers and then put the final leveling with a layer of builders sand. After the playset is installed, I will put down about 6 tons of rubber mulch, recycled from tires, for fall protection. And then, hopefully, I can get back to work on things inside.
I'm planning to get in a good run tomorrow morning. I'll have to do it early, because I am going to have to take the trailer on about a 3 hour round trip to get the landscaping timbers (or whatever I decide to use as a border), and I don't want the whole day to be shot just getting materials. We're supposed to have a pretty good break in the weather, with temps only getting up into the 80's tomorrow. I'd love to get this area leveled, and the playset built before the weekend is over. That may be a little optimistic, but after all, I am, optimistic, that is! I think the neigbors think I'm building a swimming pool; and I'm not telling them any different. There's a parade going by every now and then; they just never know what I'm up to. You should have seen it when I was tearing the roof off the gymnasium. People were so intent on seeing what was happening that they were driving off into the drainage ditch. :) Some thought I was tearing the gymnasium down; others thought I was turning it into apartments. Nope, it's just for little ole me and DW. Toodles!
