Getting ready to retire for the evening. Decided on pressure treated 2x6's for the playground border; it's a little softer than brick or stone if you happen to hit your head on it. They make rubber borders, but that's kind of overkill and way more expensive than it's worth. So, I hooked up the trailer so I can be ready to roll 1st thing in the morning - well maybe 4th or 5th thing. 1st thing planned is my run, then take care of the dogs and cats, then coffee and breakfast, then a shower, and then head out to the lumber yard about 45 minutes away. The best laid plans don't always work out so well, but I am hoping to get up by about 6 to run 5 miles, and be in the truck and on the road by 9:00. I don't figure it would do any good to get up any earlier than that, or my butt will be dragging before I'm ready to quit tomorrow night.

Draggin ass:

Well, another busy day tomorrow - I hope. Nitey nite!

Oh, and I'll bet you can't do this:

I used landscaping timbers for around my garden once, they were kind of oval shaped like this (__). Might be better for kids to bash their heads into, lol. They are cheaper as they are imperfect (Not quite straight). I held them down with big spikes somehow too.

Have you thought of used tyres. Pack them with earth, you pound it in.You can have a row of single tyres or make a wall with them. They would be cheap and would be good for the envirnoment. The children could put plants (veg, herbs salad flowers shrubs) in them.It could be a project for them.Whilst you are getting it ready they could draw plans for their gardens. Love the transformer great idea for halloween

You are so good with the technological components of Fat Secret! I need my "Fat Secret for Dummies" manual.

Well, Jenny, I think the tires are a great idea - just not too practical around here. They're not readily available and they're a little too visible for what we want to do. We also found that if you fill anything with dirt or sand, it becomes one big litterbox for the neighborhood cats. Yuck! Happened when we put in horshoe pits. Can't let this plot set as a sandlot for very long, or the same thing will happen here.

The playground is coming together! Can't wait to see it. When is the unveiling?

Well, Britt, it may be a week or so. As you'll see in my next post . . . it's a job.
