Meatballs (no marinara), turnip greens, and a tablespoon of peanut butter for dinner. Unconventionally satisfying.

I have never heard of turnip greens! I don't believe that they sell them in our stores. Too bad, they have a lot of calcium which would be perfect for me!

Turnip greens...a staple in the south, lol! Ironically, I've never tried them.

The meatballs were seasoned ground beef, pork and lamb, came out really tasty. But chicharrones sounds great for later!

I feel like I live on another planet when I hear the names of some of these foods!

LOL I finally tried pork rinds as breading on some chicken tonight and it worked really well. 🤔But I’m not sur I could ever do the turnip greens! I just started eating my radish greens in my salads last year when I started growing them! LOL And I heartily dislike turnips! 😝🙋🏻

Hey, Phil! Glad to see you back! I missed your other posts, so I'm a little late in the "welcome back" greeting.

Smprowell, if you look at the nutrition facts of turnip green you might change your mind and at least try it. I looked it up and I am amazed! I don't think that they sell them in my country but I will look for them.

Yep Charlotte, I maybe would, I’ve tried quite a few new food because of people on FS and their recommendations. LOL Can’t say I liked them all. 🤷🏻‍♀️Didn’t hate them all either. 💁🏻‍♀️If I’d had a closed mind I wouldn’t even be trying to get healthy. LOL The pork rinds were a BIG departure for me. 🤦🏻‍♀️But they worked. Don’t think I could just sit down and munch on them though. LOL Turnip greens might take a bit more. LOL

If you can find fresh made chicharrones you should give them a try, totally different thing that those what come from the grocery aisle. Ze Cajuns call dem, gratons (proununced grah-tone), lovely delicious pieces of deep-fried skin and fat attached pork meat.

Too funny! I actually just looked up turnip greens and I’ve eaten them! LOL They come in packages of what we call ‘spring mixes’ of salad greens at the store. I never know what half the greens are, just that they’re good for us! LOL 🙋🏻

Check the loose greens section in your produce aisle, they should be over there by the spinach, collards, mustards, lettuce, and cabbage.
