Lesha6891's Journal, 14 March 2018

So before i decided to diet and workout and be serious about losing weight, i has weight myself (162 lbs). I wanna say that was about 2 and a half weeks ago. So when i joined FS i just logged in that weight. Well holy hell, last night i stepped on the scale and I’m actually 6 lbs heavier than that! Which is upsetting because that means i gained 8 lbs in about 2 weeks. I just really wanna lose the weight and keep it off. I’ve always been pretty skinny, around 135 lbs. Then i hit 150 when i moved to PA from NY and got my license. Walking NY blocks is a workout in itself lol. But anyways when i got pregnant i went up to a 190 and then breastfeeding brought me down to 160. Now I’m kinda stuck at this weight and no longer breastfeeding my now 4 month old. I’m just kinda sad and miserable because i don’t think i can lose the weight. It’s only been 3 days but my one brownie turned into 4 last night !! And I’m scared that things like that will keep happening. That I’ll do good and then fail!

I am the same way, one brownie turns to the whole pan and then and I am punishing myself for it. Dont ever consider what you do as a fail, its just a stumble and you can get back up and keep on truckin. Youve got this!! Log your food, you will see where you stumble and what needs to change. You can do it!!

you have to start somewhere, just take every day as a new day to be a new you. At least you came back down, I now weigh more than when I was 9 months pregnant, how sad 😭

hang in there...pregnancy changes your WHOLE WORLD..body, brain, metabolism...and don't forget no sleep. And post partum depression. Non of that helps you loose weight. You've made great strides already. Look what you have already lost. You can do this. Just take it one step at a time. I day at a time. Record ALL your food and DRINKS. keep your calories under your goal. If your on low carb, be careful not to let the calories get too high. But most importantly, believe you can do this. If you fall off one day..it's ok..just jump back on the next day..YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

One quick suggestion. I looked through what is in your food journal & noticed almost everything you're eating is processed. Why not focus more on whole foods instead? It's much easier to control exactly what you're eating that way. It's also generally cheaper. If you don't have time to cook all the time, try batch cooking on the weekend. Just a thought.

The one thing I know to be true about myself is that I manage my eating and exercise plan much better when I totally exclude the things that could cause me to deviate. I just don't eat the one brownie because I know it will trigger the conflict ie. "I want more". This approach has proven easier for me. Don't get discouraged, keep going and you will achieve your goals

I get it, it tough. You start the day trying to eat right and then the stress of the day or work or life and or especially your weight kicks in and it can be overwhelming. That's when 1 turns into 4 (or the whole pan in my case) because while your eating it, it feels good because it tastes good, and then it's over and you feel even worse. I just made my husband promise to stop bringing home sweets because I am struggling to not eat them at night. I know it gets easier when you actually see the weight start falling off. If you can make it through the 1st couple of weeks and see a difference it will help you. Plus, you know have all of us here to cheer you on! I am new to the site, but reading everyone's comments make me hopeful that we can all help each other and were not alone!!!

I did a similar thing when I signed up for FS, I just guessed at my weight and started from there. I could have weighed 2 or 3 more (or less) pounds at that time but didn't want to see it. Once I started logging my food and reading journals and joining challenges I was successful at losing. You'll find lots of support here! And the challenges can be fun and motivating.

the 6 pound gain would probably only be about 5lbs water weight and 1lbs fat, IF it even is fat... and if it’s 1 pound, psh, dust it off cuz you’ll be losing that and more in the next few weeks ahead anyways. Be like “ain’t nobody got time for dat!” And wave it off as nothin’ 😎

It is easy to be discouraged, but keep applying good principles and take little steps if you have too. All to often people (myself included) go guns blazin/all in immediately -which often times sets us up to fail because when we hit a wall and get distracted or discouraged we miss our unrealistic goal we set in the beginning. As as result we loose faith in ourselves and or quit. Remember as I have had too, you did not put weight on overnight, it was gradual.....so to take it off will be the same gradual ---slow pace is often the safest because you have to teach yourself to eat properly again, losing weight at a good healthy pace sets you up for long term success. Your body will tell you when it feels right. Listen to it, make little goals (baby steps), meet the goal, and make a new one. We are all here for you to keep your spirit lifted.

regarding having a " 4 brownie moment" just get back on it! That is the best thing to do, it may not even affect your weight loss efforts. All have such good advise here!

You can lose the weight but you have to give yourself time. I also believe in doing it slowly. Cut your calories by a reasonable and realistic amount. What helps me is to cut the after supper snack. At first I eat veggies and fruits until I can get rid of it. I have been pregnant a few times (4) and I always gained way too much weight. I had to live through insulting comments and it took me a while to lose it but I was always able to return to my normal weight. I worked at it and I was patient.

Chips and potatoes products are my weakness, so I simply don’t buy them anymore. I sure miss them sometimes but honestly I’m enjoying the fruits and vegetables that I’ve been having. I’m not doing the Keto thing, and am not much of a meat eater, you’ll figure out how to limit your calories without having to feel hungry, and also be able to enjoy your meals. Good luck to you.
