Sugar is addictive and hits the same receptors in our brains as cocaine and heroin. The only way for me to deal with it was to eliminate it all together, and go through the cravings and discomfort of withdrawal. But after a few days, you feel so much better and the cravings go away. Quit for a month and you'll be a happy camper -- and never go back to being hooked on it.

I don’t think sugar is to blame or that is addictive. Sometimes we gotta take responsibility and admit we have no self control.

I yes if u cannot learn to discipline yourself, maybe eliminating it is best. But personally I work on my self control everyday, it’s hard but not impossible 😉

It is better not to have it around if it's that tempting. Why sabotage your hard work? Set up your environment for success. No way around it. Get temptations out of your house. Sugar is way too addictive to leave your future success up to chance. If you want success you have to plan for it. Clean your kitchen of foods you know are not healthy for you. Not other way around it! Wishing the best!

Ask your "future self" what they want... and they'll probably tell you to throw anything in the house OUT that will sabotage you... I say, better listen to them.

I too have an issue with sweets, but its kind of like quitting smoking - you go without it for a week and you start to crave it less. Every day is a new day, but I am sure you have more will power than you give yourself credit for. I also use a trick, when I crave something sweet or I crave something salty (Cheetos is my downfall - where I eat a large bag in one sitting - so I get it) but I eat an apple and peanut butter. Takes care of the sweet and the salty all in one.

I keep sugar free chocolate pudding cups in the house for those times my sweet tooth is screaming at me.

Murph, When in doubt eat an apple, like imbrookesmom says and it's good for you!
