Thursday was busier than usual, and I am not going to try to remember all the fast food junk I stuffed into my mouth. This included Popeye's and McD. (For those unfamiliar with Popeye's, it is to Cajun food what Taco Bell is to Mexican. As a non-Cajun, I think it is ambrosia!) I tried to make my food choices as low-carb as possible, but I had two diet cokes instead of plain coffee or unsweetened tea. Without preparation, it was practically impossible to get enough fats. Today is going to be super busy as well, so I am going to simplify by fasting.
The latest dietary fad seems to be autophagy. I have heard of it, but do not think it would be wise for my situation to forsake all forms of caloric ingestion. Instead, starting today, I am shooting for three days of Bulletproof Coffee and Bulletproof Vanilla Lattes. In my world, this means one of each per day to quell the nausea. I try to drink about a gallon of water per day according to the rule of one ounce of water per every two pounds of body weight. The last time I fasted this way, I noticed that I needed even more water.
Yesterday's diet coke frenzy inspired this fast. As I drank it, I knew that the chemicals in it would upset my brain and reignite the sugar cravings! The quickest way of taming those cravings is to go on a Fat Fast. Decisions have consequences, so I am deciding to deal with them.
In everything, you can be in control of your own thoughts. One thought at a time is the way to conquer your body's desires. The Ketogenic Diet helps both the body and the brain to stay healthy, but it is not the immediate panacea some people want. It still takes work to stay on track.
