Migraine, neck pain and simply really tired today so not doing much. Not tracking food because I lost track, at least it hasn't been junk food. The body is definitely letting me know I need to track the cause. Getting the MRI re-scheduled on Monday. Spending the $$ means some financial plans have to change. Health is a priority so..............

I make cuts in our budget to eat all organic and have high quality supplements... we can’t afford medical bills... so prevention is key! Going gluten free, and lowering soy, corn and starches has helped me. When I was eating strictly keto I had so much energy and felt better. But the last 6 weeks has been rough here in Cali and I haven’t been eating keto, but I plan to reboot this week and get back at it!!!

Mamamc, Good for you on your WOE!! I'd rather not have doc bills also so try to stay healthy and eat many immune boosting foods. My plan is primarily plant based and buy organic as much as I can, the selections are growing but often still limited in my area. I know it's not WOE eating related because I've been on my plan for about 3 years. I was mostly migraine free for 7 years and since a bout of bronchitis in October the chronic migraines returned along with a sore neck and swollen glands. These seem to all be related somehow. I also have a 3 level cervical fusion with a steel rod that was done in 2001, so part of the MRI is to see if there is anything related to that. MRI's are set for Wed and a Neurologist for late Feb (1st avail) with a primary doc appt. in between.

I thought you couldn't have an MRI if you have a steel implant?

The Rod may actually be made of an MRI friendly metal.

That's what I thought also. They are aware and I have been told by the imagining place that it is no problem. I will make sure they know when I go and it will be on my history that I have to complete. My doc originally ordered CT scans because of it and they were denied by insurance but they would approver the MRI.

I forgot, implants are made from 18:8 austenitic stainless steel and are non magnetic. I actually have silverware of the same metal.

No idea on the makeup of the steel. The tech had worked at the hospital where the surgery was done and had worked with the neurosurgeon who did it. I did make sure she was aware and it was on my history ppw.
