Finally turning the boat around after the holidays. More protein, less carbs, some fats. Perhaps a little too much salt (for flavor) still but, with meds, BP remains below stage 1 hypertension. The wife loves to cook our meals and is helping somewhat; she tries to be conscious of the carbs now that I've hammered it home. Unfortunately I do not get actively involved in shopping (Ugh!) so a large percentage of groceries still involve my favorites like bread, rice, pasta and potatoes -- my mortal enemies! It's not her diet so I quietly take responsibility for my own failings but it was so much easier when I lived alone. (Sigh!)
275.0 lb Lost so far: 5.0 lb.    Still to go: 75.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Try an online grocery ordering/delivery service. That way you can order what you want, your wife can order what she wants and normal household staples. AND, with the delivery service, NO hungry shopping and throwing unhealthy things in the cart. I've used Peapod for 3 years and it's amazing!
