Took another walk today with the intent to try to do 3 hours again (I'm retired and the weather is nice right now, if we ever get our rainy season I won't be able to walk as much). After about an hour I realized it was doubtful I would be able to do 3 hours. I checked when I reach the bottom of "my hill" which is one of the steepest hills in my neighborhood. I knew it took me about 35 minutes to get home from there and I want to do at least 2 hours, maybe more. So I didn't go up the hill I kept going straight walking to the other side of my neighborhood where I don't usually walk. It seems like a constant incline for at least a mile. Then I made a right turn after I reached the top and went further down that street than I had before - I turned on another street and was lost. I ended up on a street that was a loop. I reached a point where it was the same street name whether I went straight or turned right. I went straight and after about 20 minutes I realized I had walked in a circle. Wasn't sure how to get out of that loop. Finally saw some other walkers and they told me where to turn to get onto the street I was looking for. I was getting so tired and realized I'd be well over 3 hours. And still had my big hill to climb before getting home. By the time I got home it was 3 hours and 35 minutes. I still can hardly move. My feet are aching. I've been noticing for about a week now that my right knee starts hurting when I am walking downhill, even just slight declines. It's fine when I'm walking level or uphill. Have to figure out how to deal with that. Sorry for such a long post about a walk! I did get a couple good pictures. I'll try to upload one. I could see a little bit of the golf course - which is completely on the other side of my gated community. Picture isn't great but I bet there is a great view from the house in the picture. Also saw at least 2 dozen deer at various houses during the walk and lots of wild turkeys. It was a beautiful day to walk.

I got in my car and drove the route I walked yesterday. It was 9.4 miles! Had no intention of walking anywhere near that amount but once I was out there and got lost I really had no choice but to walk back home however long it was. No pain today although last night I actually rubbed Ben Gay on the bottoms of my feet because they were so sore. Well now I am motivated to try to walk 10 miles! I drove around the neighborhood a couple times trying to figure out a route to do it and was either short of 10 miles or over 11. The last route had me at 10.6 miles so I may try it - but not today!

I just finished my walk. Just did an hour which is up and down the street with the 2 hills. I usually walk between 3-4 miles or so. Just sometimes I try to prove to myself I can do something. I'll probably try to do 10 miles at some point but I usually make a decision during a walk to just keep going. You'll catch me soon, I started at about 1/2 mile and just went a few steps further each day.
