I had a photo taken today and it was a picture of my face and I am certainly thin enough as I am 6'2" tall. So I changed my goal weight to 200 lbs. and if I get in the upper 190s that is where I'll maintain. The photo here on FS was Nov 2008 when I was in the low 190s. I have to work out to get rid of a slight gut but there is really no more weight to lose, I just have to stay on here to maintain just about. So once I start SBD and get going I'll be below 200 lbs. in no time at all and will be able to eat a wider variety of foods than Atkins... :)

You'll find the comfort zone for u Glen...SBD certainly affords you many choices...you'll do well on it...you don't have far till you're under the blue line...Take care

Thanks for the encouragement, I think it will be easier to maintain my weight with more choices on this diet...

I was wondering if your ideal weight was 200 or 190. Of course your frame size is also a factor, but the charts that I just looked at would seem to point to around 190. I think you will find that after Phase 1, which you should do your best to stick to to the letter, the rest of SBD you will find very easy to work with.

My frame grew as I gained weight. One thing is for a guy - I noticed a former friend had real skinny legs. My legs are very muscular so I think a lot of my weight is there. I think I will sustain in the upper 190s. I got a bus pass ID today and really realized I am thin enough. All I have to do is tone up my body I think. Thanks for the advice info, I'm tall and was very thin when young so the weight is OK as I'm going to be 48 on June 27, so as one ages being too thin isn't good. I look too harsh in the picture, but some friends agreed with me I really don't look my age - today's photo I look younger than the one posted here. I have some good photos of me - I have to get the cell phone connecting device soon to have my BIL download them here and on other sites... Just gotta dye that gray on the sides and that will take off five years! :)

LOL! OK then, get that grey off and let's get going. :-) I'm not even sure you need a diet at this point Glenn. You look like you are pretty close to maintenance weight and you know what you are doing. It's always best to get a few pounds under one's ideal weight though. That's what I'm trying to do anyway.
