Oh, my. I am SOOOO off this diet right now. I have had an upset stomach for most of 2 weeks, and have been indulging with anything that sounds good. Mostly, that means sugar. I had my first doughnut in months (then my second, etc.) and some real ice cream, which was to die for. The problem, of course, is that once you start, your body wants more, and I can't seem to draw the line. Plus, my plumbing is working for the first time since I started, and so I'm trying to figure out where I can establish some treats to keep things moving without defeating all my other efforts.

Tomorrow, I go back at it HARD. I have to be back in my groove before I go to the beach in 2 weeks, and I WILL, WILL, WILL be at 160 or below! I always eat very well there, probably because of the access to fresh seafood and all the farmers' markets that are near our cottage. This landlocked Wisconsin girl could eat nothing but fish the whole time I'm there, and I'll really try to do that this time. Plus, we spend so much time swimming and running with the kids, I should be in good shape when I leave. The trick will be to get squared away before I leave...

So, will me some willpower, OK? I need to find my way before I become so discouraged that I throw it all away. Love and luck to all!

**NOTE: Since I started writing, I forgot the exact weight, so I re-weighed, and it went up a whole pound! (No, I'm not eating as I write.) So much for my "super-accurate" scale!

It gets very difficult sometimes! And, it is easy to continue with the poor choices once you start!! I got back at it today after sone poor eating these last few days. You can do it! You've done so well so far! Don't give up!!! Don't fall in to thinking, "Oh well, I've messed up, I might as well keep going." You can start over and not make things worse!! Best wishes!!

The sugary refined foods really aren't treats at all, they are more like toxins (calling them "poisons" may be going to far, but I'm tempted to do so). When you get back on course, which I'm sure you will do shortly, look around you when you go into a coffee shop (or fast food place) and see all those pastries, look at the people ordering drinks absolutely loaded with refined sugar and other unhealthy products, and pride yourself in the knowledge that you get it. If one stays on Phase 1 long enough (I think this may vary with the person) the cravings for the bad fats and bad carbs should eventually go away. Letting *good* ones back in slowly in phase 2 is the key part of the SBD IMHO. We have been brainwashed into thinking many of the toxic foods are really treats, we really don't need them at all. Once we break this part that has been "coded" into our psyche, we have the basis for a permanent cure. That's the way I'm looking at it this time around. Good Luck Mama and God bless you!
