poetessmisty's Journal, 13 April 2012

Oh wow. Totally fell off the wagon again. Not EVEN going to record all that I ate. I'm not sure if I can do this Atkins thing. Even healthy things I love like yogurt, bananas, mangoes etc I can't eat. Got a stationary bike. Let me cut out ice cream n cookies and junk and the bread too and see how I do with some consistant daily exercise. I am so sick of burgers and salad and eggs. And those are the most affordable things on this diet so there's not much else. It really was working, I am just not sure if I can keep eating the way that is required of the Atkins diet. Kinda like in the book Alcoholics Anonymous suggests to try some controlled drinking...I think I'm gonna try some controlled carb eating. :) We will see.

Diet Calendar Entry for 13 April 2012:
2562 kcal Activities & Exercise: Standing - 1 hour, Walking (slow) - 2/mph - 30 minutes, Desk Work - 30 minutes, Driving - 30 minutes, Resting - 13 hours and 30 minutes, Sleeping - 8 hours. more...

Kudos to you! Good luck on your change of plans I couldn't do the atkins diet either I love fruits and veggies too much.Feel free to check out my daily food journals I tried to keep it within reasonable carbs(esp simple ones not complex that burn slower) I think balance between all foods to fit individuals needs should be decided by them and their own body not by some textbook diet that is pretty much the same to follow for all that are on it. Back in the old days before fast food and junk food ppl weren't so out of shape as today, they worked harder and ate more natural.Hope it works out for you it is after all you body not Dr.Atkins!

I know it can take quite a bit of a change in thinking about food at the beginning of a low carb eating plan, but there are so many more foods that you could be eating. It sounds like you need to do some internet searches for recipes. There are some great resources out there that can show you how to add variety into your meals. If money is tight, you can even search for low cost recipes. This way of eating really does work for weight loss and can give you so much energy. My hubby has lost 80 lbs and I have lost just over 50 lbs so far and we have never felt better. I hope you give it another shot. Good luck!
