First day using fatsecret to calculate and monitor my food intake and activity. Been a fatboy most my life with an occasional bout of slim, but not many.

I have an idea of how I'd like to look and eat going forward, will do my best to improve daily.

Doing a hybrid Atkins leaning more Keto. Have done decent amount of research and have a plan(ish)....per usual.

The math for daily intake for goal weight of 185# = 1780 cals.
+++Protein = 504 cals. / 126 grams
+++Carbs. = 120 cals. / => 30 grams
+++Fat = 1,156 cals. / 128.5 grams

My body does not do well with carbs...hence the low amount. The total daily intake is approximate as I did a few different calculators which gave me different bmi / daily calorie counts. If too low then I'll adjust accordingly.

Due to continuing back issues will have to limit my activity to walking up and down the street as this is as far as I feel comfortable meandering. From the house to the next main cross street and back is .6 miles. If I do this 8 times it is close to my goal of 5 miles a day. Add a bit of Qigong for the stretching and away we go. In the future will try yet again to do some Yoga and biking mixed with a few days of skateboarding (Yes I ride a skateboard and Yes I know my age thank you very much) when healed up enough.
Ugh...another day one.

I had to tease my life long dentist (he's 75) when he fell and broke his tailbone while using a trampoline......I said don't you know how old you are? What were you thinking!? I LOVE his response! I was having too much fun to think about how old I am! I love that man. He's awesome.

The fact that you are already mobile lends itself towards your success. You're at where I intend to be (weight-wise) and have journeyed through some of the same physical challenges - hope to make the rest of it with folks like you... determined and driven!

Keep at it, my man! Keto can be a bear at times. Ive managed to lose 11 pounds in 2 months. I have found my secret weapon are the following 3 foods: 1. avacados, guacamole and believe it or now...fried pork skins! Use the skins as a chip to scoop up the gauc. Also Wisconsin Farms Turkey bites and Mrs. Cubbison's parmesan crisps, which are made up of nothing but chees..All of these items are full of fat and little to no calories. All of these can be found at WalMart. I also use MCT oil for some of my fat intake. MCT is one of the few foods that goes straight to the liver and is converted to ketones. Regarding water consumptsion, rule of thumb is 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of weight. I thrown this in because some sites state to dink "as much as you can" This actually not true because too much water can actually throw off your electrolytes. Anyway, keep up the good fight.
