Herbie's Journal, 30 June 2007

I've been super-momming this week (home w/2 young kids, husband out of town) and it's wreaked a bit of havoc on my exercise routines. I managed to lift weights a couple of days, but have done no cardio really. So, although I've been doing pretty well food-wise, my exercise for this week hasn't been up to my usual standards and I don't feel nearly as energetic --which is probably partially from not exercising and partially from being "on call" all the time. Tomorrow my husband comes back from out of town and Monday the kids will be able to go back to preschool/camp (they've been off this week), so things will get back to normal for us soon.

Hats off to those of you who are stay-at-home Moms, what a lot of work! My job is also work, of course, but the mental space away from mommy-ness is a real necessity for me. I love my kids dearly and have had a wonderfully fun week with them. Nonetheless, I found it quite difficult to have almost no time to myself. I'm quite impressed with folks who are at home with kids all day and still manage to get their workouts in. :)

You're doing great! Even though you didn't get all the excercise in you normally do, watching kids is a work-out in itself! You're doing great, look at your chart! You're so close! And the fact that you've been able to stick to the diet even though your life is in upheaval shows that you have a stick-to-itness that I admire. Keep it up!
