BrandyRelaxing's Journal, 04 March 2012

I've been feeling kinda down about losing weight so slowly (especially compared to my DH), but I think I have to look at it from a different light.

1. I'm doing this in a way that doesn't make me feel deprived.
2. The rest of my life is continuing to go on as I lose weight. I haven't had to reduce the amount of time I spend working, or being with friends to be healthy.

One good thing from today. I went shopping and fit into a 20 in pants and an X (not a 1X, but an X)!!!

Doing great, Brandy. Congrats on the X. And you should be proud of your DH. I'm very proud of both of you.

Thanks Heather! You're absolutely inspirational yourself! I am consistently amazed at how you fit work, healthy eating and exercise into 24 hours!

I think you're doing really well, and it's daft to compare yourself to someone else. As long as what you're doing works for you then that's all that matters. Personally, I would rather lose the weight slowly because it minimises the amount of excess skin I'm likely to have once I reach my goal. Plus, I thoroughly believe in having fun along the way, and for me that means not being too harsh on myself. Just look at everything you're achieving - you're doing great! :)

Well if your weight loss is so slow that it's something to feel bad about, should I feel bad about the fact that I hit my all-time low over 3 months ago? I don't, but you see my point. Of course I'd LIKE to be losing faster, but it's not worth being miserable. I'd rather have a healthier balance for my mental well-being. You're doing great.

Thanks All... logically, I know it's fine to be slow. I totally agree with the logic that I'll have less loose skin at the end as well, it's just that it's not easy to be losing weight slower than people around me.

Girl please...I can't count the number of people I've met on these sites that started after me & passed me up a long time ago - I think you're one of them, lol. It doesn't bother me because I'm happy with what I'm doing. I chose to keep my calories higher at a level that is comfortable for me with the understanding that slower weight loss was the price I'd pay & I'm ok with it. Besides, I've accomplished a ton of other goals besides some arbitrary number on a scale. Set a fitness goal to work on & I promise you the scale won't bother you as much. :D
