It is a little discouraging to realize I am following Induction phase I very closely and yet my weight loss is slow for this phase. I can't see where I'll ever be able to eat any fruits or veg like butternut squash.

Don't get discouraged. It will come off. I found that I can't eat the Atkins bars or shakes because they stall me. Also can't have any sugar alcohol. You need lots and lots of water, I drink 125-150 oz a day. I actually lost nothing on my second week of induction and then lost 4 lbs on week 3. Just give the plan a chance and you will eventually see it on the scale but more importantly you will feel it in your clothes.

VBolt95 is correct about the bars and shakes. They stall you. Take your measurements. The 2nd week of my diet I lost 1lb and was upset, but one I took my measurements I saw I lost 5 inches off my waist.

Thank you VBolt95 and JadiReborn, I'll lose the bars and shakes - had a feeling something that tastes sweet could somehow slow fat loss.
