Today was a good day. I got to leave the house at the same time as DH so I let him drive me across the only large road I have to cross to walk to my training class. It was nice to get to spend a few extra minutes with him in the morning. The walk home was nice and I walked the dogs again once I got home. We "walked" for 50 minutes, but only made it around the block four times because of all of the chatting with neighbors. There was a break-in in our tiny secluded neighborhood today so everyone was out visiting and talking. It really makes me wish I got home earlier on regular work days. Being home before dark makes such a difference.

I wore my heart rate monitor today and was pleased to know that even though I feel like I walk too slow, my heart rate does get into the 130s. Right now it feels like a delicate balance between going fast only to have the muscles in my calves cramp up immediately and going slow for more endurance. I'm hoping that after joining a gym I can do strength training and start jogging some. Until then I will continue to walk the dogs when the weather is right and do the elliptical on the other days.

The scale hasn't changed much in the past several weeks. I know some of it is hormonal so I'm trying not to let it get me down, but I'm certainly ready for a change. I've been exercising and eating right...there should be some weight loss going on.
