WendyMaq's Journal, 02 April 2017

Bought a yoga mat two days ago; still staring at it in its box. ;D Man-oh-man, I really need to stretch hips and hip flexors so I can walk without stabbing pain which stops me and doubles me over (and scares anyone nearby).

Migraines are mostly under control at the moment. (YAY) Had one this week, but I think it was due to storm patterns and traveling through the mountains. Still exhausted. The exhaustion does look to be sleep apnea, but I can't get my official results until JUNE! Since we have no way of knowing what type of apnea I have, I'm taking nasal sprays to open up airways, taking magnesium glycinate to try to get into a deeper sleep, and meeting with another doctor to try to get an appliance made which will accommodate the TMJ disorder and the snoring (which I only recently found out I do).

Andre and I both started seeing a naturapath who seems a lot more interested in caring for us than our doctors. I need to get my brain back so I can be a lot more on the ball in helping him help us. He actually thinks Andre is the organized one!! (Bahahahahaha!!!) I'm learning a lot! I'm, just not retaining any of the information. *sigh*

Anyone who actually reads this should know that my sad stories may seem like a bummer, but they are hilarious. I have suffered from migraines all my life. Nothing worked so I gave up and just suffered. They finally convinced me to go back to the neurologist (30 years later) and he gives me a medication for epilepsy. ...and it helps! Really? Epilepsy? And THEY only discovered it by mistake... yup. Sounds about right in my book of life! THEN he needs to cancel our next appointment because he falls and breaks a hip. (I'm sure I had nothing to do with it!) I start seeing this naturopath and mentioned another issue I've had all my life and showed him an out-of-control lesion which I'm afraid might need surgical intervention. He gives me a tincture of calendula oil, the lesion calms down inside a few days, no surgery required. THEN he needs to cancel his next appointment due to a family emergency. (Again, I'm sure I had nothing to do with it!?) All we can do is laugh at life's absurdities!

Right now, I'm going to go find a sunbeam and think very seriously about opening up that yoga mat. ;) (...or taking another nap.)

Could your migraines be food related? My MIL had them forever til she found out she reacted to nuts, cheese & mushrooms.

My son has debilitating migraines, and we have given up on finding a solution that doesn't cause brain fog. He is in college and I am amazed at the things that trigger migraines for him. He is a strong soul and just powers through. Please keep us informed about your successes with the naturapath!

So far, the only thing triggering my migraines are weather and who-knows-what. The topiramate is keeping them in check, however. It is unfortunate I have to rely on something so scary, but it is helping. Still waiting for answers on the sleep apnea. While we're waiting for the SPECIALIST to give me my result (which, by the way, he will tell me he needs to do more testing because I took a home test), the naturopath has suggested another specialist whom will see me much sooner.

I get migraines when it's too hot so I mostly stay in the ac during the summer. I'm hoping if I continue eating healthy and find a natural way to heal my hypothyroidism, they'll go away. I never had a migraine until I hit 45.
