Fledgist's Journal, 13 January 2012

I stood on the scale this morning and was shocked. I weighed myself three times to be sure. This is a big drop in one day. It gives me a BMI of 24.4.

Now, I've got to think about maintenance. One web site I've consulted suggests a calorie count of 2182 calories a day for a maintenance diet at 164 lbs. I'm thinking I should start moving up to that, gradually, once I go below 12 stone. Raising my RDI first to 1700. Then to 1900. Finally, once I hit goal to 2100. That's with three days a week exercise. With little exercise, it should stay at 1900 calories.
169.8 lb Lost so far: 167.2 lb.    Still to go: 1.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 13 January 2012:

CONGRATULATIONS. Your weight is just dropping off. Are you well, are you eating okay? Not meaning to rain on your parade, you've just been so ill and wondering if you are eating 'normal', like you used to before you got sick. But 169 is absolutely amazing. Congrats again, wow, so proud of you if that doesn't seem presumptuous.

I'm eating okay. I have to avoid spices and alcohol, but I'm not starving myself. I suspect that next week I'll plateau. That's what's tended to happen.

Glad you are eating well then, just being a worry wort! As you say you will likely plateau next week. Be well and have a great week-end - and thanks for visiting my journal.

WOOHOO!! That's absolutely amazing! It's so great to see that you're so close that you're starting to plan for maintenance! All I can say is WOW!

Oddly, I still don't feel slim. I can still see flab in places on my body, and while I can see that my waistline has reduced considerably (I'm wearing trousers this morning with a 34 inch waistline, that's a bit loose; two years ago my waistline was over 60 inches), I still feel like the same person. What I do notice is that I fit easily is smaller spaces than I did before.

Funny how things are, that is actually the thing I like the best that I fit easily into smaller spaces.......
