I'm 12 pounds less than my heaviest weight January 2005 just prior to ending my 20 year relationship with my now EX

I lost down 87 pounds in 15 months.

I found love - still very active and maintained weight - no loss, no gain. Then 2010 stress is my weight gainer. My Love and I made a life changing decision. One of the best decisions. However, It was a scary and stressful decision. Stress: Fear of the unknown. I gained 45 pounds during 2010. 2011 I gained another 34 pounds. I've played with the last 20 pounds. Up this month, down next month. all year.

I've been with the same company for 22 years and we always have a weight loss contest the first quarter. I've participated in years past with good motivation and support and I've always lost weight. The problem is keeping it off all year.

This year their are 18 of us - there is a buy in, cash reward to the top three losers. The winner is based on percentage of weight loss.

I really started focusing on the weight loss the week before Thanksgiving. So, January 4th was easy to commit to the weight loss contest. I was already down 5 pounds thru Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

Very excited I am down 2.6 pounds this week. YEA!

I have the support at home to be healthy, not thin. I have the support at work to be thin not healthy.

I'm aware of my body and hearing it scream. I've seen my parents and grandparents symptoms show up in me in the last year. Battling Thyroid issues and hormone imbalance all at the same time - really has been a challenge for me. My kids are grown, there is no running around, constant on the go anymore. Life in the last two years has become slow, no soccer games at 8:AM, no school functions at 7:pm, no longer dating, out every weekend looking for the perfect one. etc, etc.

Maybe if I get out and start shooting pool every other night again, that would help. I've always had the most success with the Weight Watcher plan. I discovered WW in 2000. I lost 45 pounds in four months. Maintaining and loosing a little here and there. The end of 2004 when my EX decided to end our relationship, I gained almost 90 pounds in five months. I attended the WW meetings for 12 weeks and I learned the program.

I tried it online in 2010 when I started gaining, the new point plus did not fit.

I've kept all my tools and books and I know it works... Like I said I'm Down 7.6 pounds in the last seven weeks. That is pretty darn good for the holidays. Avg 1.1 pounds a week. Pretty Darn Good! Pat On The Back PLEASE!

The goal for first quarter is 30 pounds. Today the goal is 27.4 pounds. Short term is always good. It works best for me. It is always better than having that large number sitting in front of me. Being tall is dangerous, it hides the weight. I've found the folks are always shocked to find I weight ... Fluffy!

I try really hard to do date night with my boys & daughter in-law at least twice a month. Whether together or separate. And On a funny note my youngest son. Who stands 5'10" and 140 pounds, replies to me last night "counting points are you..." when I said "wait! let me see what this is going to cost me, before we go in"

I've been counting points so long, I think they even know that A Banana is 2 points.

My daughter in-law has been an inspiration, she has dropped 25 pounds this year. She has gone vegan and it really has helped my oldest son. He is trying new foods and they are cooking together and he is eating healthier.

Well, enough rambling! I've been drinking my Saturday morning coffee, with my favorite creamer, my reward for the week. Journaling and watching the squirrels on the back porch eat the bird seed.
