JockoT's Journal, 13 December 2016

Yesterday was a disaster. I was great up until the evening. After dinner Mrs T wanted to go to the supermarket, so I said "if I go shopping now I am having a beer as a reward". So I did. And some crisps! Then some crackers and cheese later in the evening!! I have no will power whatsoever these days. The only saving grace was I was out working yesterday so used more calories during the day.

Sounds like me and my Snickers bar yesterday. And the wine. To be fair, I did adjust my evening meal as I had chance but it's still annoying. You'll get it back, Jocko. It will flick like a switch one day. Take care

That's the trouble with going shopping - there are more goodies in the house! OH does most of our shopping. Just as well: when I go, all kinds of things seem to magically slide into the trolley without me lifting a hand. I'm due to go and help out with the big shop to tide us over the festive season. Bit worried the trolley will be a magnet, attracting Pandoros and other sweet and savoury delights towards it.

We've all done it. It's that time of year and we can easily do it because it's cold and miserable out there. Take care

I prefer to get Mike to go shopping. I went with him the other, and it was so hard resisting buying all the extra temptations put in conspicuous places in the supermarket at the moment. Anyway you will do fine, Jocko. Just don't do it every day!

It's a big challenge to find other ways of rewarding ourselves other than food 'treats'. I have to keep reminding myself why I started this journey in the first place.

Jocko, those things were in the house calling your name. LOL! When I drink too much wine, I have no willpower at all. I totally forget I am watching carbs, calories and everything else. The trick is ... don't put those snacks in the house. LOL! Heidij123 is right about the stores sabotaging us with all the holiday treats out the middle of the aisles and stuck on the end caps. It is very tempting. I would send my husband but he is worse than I am about getting suckered into picking up what catches his eye. LOL! 'Tis the season. Don't beat yourself up. You had a beer and snacks, so what? Today is a new day. You got this ... I know you can do it.

I think crisps are terrible for putting on weight. I don't know why - just too many calories for the small amount you get I think. I don't touch them anymore. Cheese and biscuits are OK as long as you have just maybe two crackers piled high with cheese. That's what my husband does anyway.
