Sandy701's Journal, 30 December 2011

3.2 miles walked today....sunny, humid and warmer....in the upper 60's when we finished, so shorts and a long-sleeve t-shirt were the apparel of the day.

It looks like I'll finish out 2011 with 25 pounds lost. Not stellar, but fairly good for this stage of the journey. I've lost 80 pounds for the entire 91-week journey overall. Even more important, however, is that I've learned various tidbits about myself and how I react to different foods. The hard part is implementing what I've learned!

I feel like I've been fighting myself all week, being on plan but taking too many liberties with portions. I'm considering just relaxing my death grip on this WOE for this last holiday and allowing a few indiscretions. There IS an emotional reason for this (I'm just plain tuckered out, weary of this journey) so I'm hoping a bit of a respite helps. I really don't want to take a 6-month break, as they talk about in the book. And I need to be watchful that I'm not feeding my feelings about my neighbor's situation.

Everyone, have a safe but happy New Year! See you in 2012.

I just have to say I'm very inspired by your journey so far. You've been so faithful and worked so hard to get where you are today. Over time I'm sure it wears on you to be so persistant and taking a little breather might be just the ticket. Happy New Year~

Sandy - For crying out loud - have a few indiscretions! It is the end of a long hard year. As you know your first 55 pounds was easier than your last 25 - and the next loss may be even slower. But I have the feeling after you catch up on your rest (and everything else) you'll be up for the challenge. As for you neighbor, I have a hard time saying no too, but she does need to start taking responsibility for herself. What is going to happen if her husband passes away? You are not really doing her any favors when you do things for her that she should be doing herself.

Thank you Dani, Buffy & Bren. I thought I was really going to get a lot of grief about this. I've got 1 more day to relax a bit and then come Monday, I'm already beginning to feel some new energy to kick these last 10 pounds to the curb.
