Mini-accomplishment time!!!! So this morning I grabbed a pair of mid-rise jeans that I've not been able to wear for about a year made by my favorite line of jeans.. and.. (drumroll).. I'm proud to say that I am now sitting very comfortably in them as I type this! I am a size 24 in jeans (stretch of course) as long as the jeans have a full rise because of my stomach. Torrid sells a mid-rise jean that used to hug my curves amazingly when I was about 80 pounds lighter. I had gone up to a size 24 in Torrid when my weight was rising. Much to my dismay I put them on one day and they were very hard to button. That's not all, when I did get them buttoned, they are were SUPER uncomfortable because my stomach was spilling over. I wore them for an hour but they left red marks on my stomach. I took them off and haven't been able to wear them since. I think it was over a year ago, but I was so depressed that I tried to just forget about it. No, I KNOW it was over a year ago because I started wearing my Old Navy jeans exclusively.. then picked up some Lee Rider Tummy Control jeans in November (black friday).. those becamse my go-to jeans even though I have over 8 pairs of jeans in smaller sizes. I no longer am a jeans every day kind of person. I started wearing more stretch pants (sigh).
Whoever invented elastic should be slapped. It made it so much easier for me to just ignore the fact that I was gaining so much weight. I would just slip into my stretchy elastic waist pants or my yoga pants and not worry about it. It was comfortable.. I was comfortable.
I'm happy today because this is a very small, but significant achievment for me.
OH OH OH OH OH! Aaaaaand.. I no longer have to wear the bra extenders on my bras. They fit without them, thank you very much!
