Work yesterday was a total SNAFU. My first client showed up 20 minutes late, no apology, Since I was booked back-to-back, it threw off my whole frikkin' day! Thank heaven for co-workers who step up when you need them! Our manicurist is working on an apprenticeship, so she helped me out. Add to that, there was a potluck lunch for Halloween, and almost everyone brought high-carb junk. Thank heavens for our receptionist, whose specialty is deviled eggs! She makes the absolute best deviled eggs I've ever had, and she brought a bunch. Between those, and celery and ranch dip from a veggie platter, I was able to fill up enough to stay in Beast mode. The wrist was healed enough to make it through the day without further strain or pain. I had filled out a request for FEMA help online on Monday, for the broken shingles on my roof, and right in the middle of the crazy day, I got a text message from an assessor saying he'd been out to my house, and wanted to meet with me to discuss my damages. Ok, I should be home by 4:30, he says he'll meet me there at 4:45. I get home at 4:25, turn on my newly fixed computer, and find the same damn thing as before. Arrrrgh!!!!!! There was an update when I turned it off in the morning, and that update kacked the system again. I feed the cats, text my geek, and wait for the FEMA dude. He showed up at my neighbor's house and texts me that he's here. I text back, "No you're not." LOL He was really nice, took all kinds of pix and measurements, gave me valuable info, and fought off the B52 sized mosquitoes the hurricane graced us with to take measurements of the house. I may get a little money to replace those shingles. Meanwhile, my geek calls and gives me some suggestions to fix the computer, when they don't work, says he'll stop by around 6. He does, and after trying some stuff, decides it might be the USB connection for the wireless keyboard and mouse. Yanks it out, and voila! The computer starts normally! YAY! So, when it happens with the NEXT update, I know what to do. He then stops to *flirt* with me! Talked for over an hour about this and that, inserts his age (49) into the conversation and the fact that he's a single dad... ROFL! You should have seen the look on his face when I dropped my age (60) on him. He said no way do I look that age. It might have had something to do with the fact that I was wearing my Halloween work garb of skull patterned pants, and a black shirt that hugs my new, girl-shaped figure. :D Nice to be flirted with! Today was wrist resting, a little laundry, and full Beast 3.0 mode. 27 hour fast, 488 Kcal for the day, ate to satiety on pork steak and Ranch flavored beans. KetoStix at the darkest color. Macros in line, gut bugs happy. Have a great rest of the weekend, Buddies! ~Kes
