kingkeld's Journal, 13 December 2011

Yesterday was a GREAT day! I felt like I accomplished so many things, and that's gotta be the best feeling in the world!

I did my morning exercise, I rehearsed one of my bands set lists and wrote my journal before work. I did great at work, got a case closed and a few other good things. Then I hit the gym for a good walk on a higher level than usual, home to eat, play 2nd set on bass and then FINALLY time to relax with a movie. What a day.

I did great calorie wise, food wise, the works. I didn't even reach my RDI, which doesn't happen TOO often these days. I have been so ready to finish this journey that I kinda got a little tired of it. I haven't done horrible, but I haven't been TOO motivated to go under my RDI either.

Well, yesterday I did great.

The payoff today is that I am at 83.9 kgs - a full 1.1 kgs (more than 2 lbs) less than yesterday. Doing the Indulgence Diet, it usually takes some days to get remotely close to new lows. Today I am one pound away from one, and I am pretty sure I'll reach my a new goal throughout the week - and before Saturday. This is awesome!

I woke up early today, had to go to the rest room about 45 minutes before wake-up time. So I decided after to just go ahead and do my exercise. Yup. I did it at 4 am! Nuts, huh? LOL.

So this bought me more morning time to just relax. It's now 6:41 and I have exercised, rehearsed a band set (45-50 minutes), had breakfast, shaved, showered, prepared a few details on my Friday outfit (gotten the shirt somewhat ready - not sure if it needs ironing, which is a challenge as I don't own an iron!), and last task before work is to write this journal. Then I am done and good to go when I feel like it.

It's a long day today. It's rock'n'roll Tuesday, and I'm gonna go hang with the kids and see if we can get one little step closer to rock stardom. As you guys know, this is always a blast!

It is a day full of music and I love that. I am trying to mentally prepare myself that I have to play yet another set of my band's stuff when I come home after teaching the kids. I'm not sure if my head is ready for that, but I really want to play the whole thing through as many times as I can before the concert Friday. I'd like to be in as good musical shape as absolutely possible. It's a lot more fun when you truly feel on top of things.

So, I know that Mom2 is SO curious about my shoes. I'm still not fully sure what I'm going for. I really like the converse idea, something black, maybe black and white. Maybe even checkered black/white if I can find it here in my little town. Trouble is that it's very pricey here (converse is easily about $100) and that I am REALLY picky about comfort in my shoes. I've never had converse before, so I have to try them om and really evaluate. I might do that Wednesday after work and gym, or maybe at lunch time today. We'll see.

The trouble is also that I need shoes in general to take me through the winter, and it would be a financially smart move to buy shoes that will help me through the cold days, without them being winter shoes. Converse probably won't be good enough for that. I dunno. We'll see.

Today, I am thankful for
- waking up early and getting me going.
- realizing that the medium level exercise DVD that I am doing really isn't THAT hard.
- the sound of my awesome bass guitar. I really dig it.
- an easy day at work today (knock on wood).
- the shoutout in Sazy's journal.
- the fact that I am not as intimidated by exercise or the gym any longer.
- losing 1.1 kgs since yesterday, being 500 grams away from an new low and it's only Tuesday!

Have a great day, my favorite people! Life is good!

This is amazing news!!! So glad to hear you are so close to your goal! As far as the shoes ordeal, I own a couple pairs of converse and they are pretty comfy, my only grip with them is there is not arch support, and being the size I am, that makes for some pretty sort feet (and knees and hips lol) at the end of a long day. I would spend the $30 or so dollars that it cost for a pair over here, but I couldn't personally shell out $100+ dollars for them based on comfort. The BEST shoes I have ever owned (and as of recently, own 3 pairs!) is the Nike Shox. I am in love. It use to hurt my feet so much to walk and I would get blisters and my ankles would hurt, but these shoes have done wonders for me with the little springs. I love them. Just my 2 cents :] CONGRATS again on being so amazing!!

Inspiring journal - well done, you, and thanks :) BTW converse are good looking but definitely not first for comfort - I agree with Shae, they're too flat.

Wow.... You are going to hit a record low BEFORE your Saturday weigh in, if you keep going like this.... OMG what time do you get to bed? you make me feel really lazy, I have to get a minimum of 8 hours sleep, preferably 9. They do say that intelligent people don't need much sleep.... I. Ust be really dumb LOL

Comfort (and price) is my biggest concern regarding the shoes. I have a feeling that I will NOT like wearing converse. Too flat as Shae says. I am trying to be on my feet as much as I can thoughout the day, and I am thinking that they just might be a bad choice - though the look would suit me aplenty. Skinny - I go to bed early. Wife goes to work at 5:30, so I get up early with her. It just seems more practical that we have somewhat the same sleep patterns. On week nights we are usually in bed by 9 pm for that reason. I used to sleep through, but after I lost weight I have so much more energy, and I just wake up on my own, no alarm until 4:30. I typically wake up around 3:30 or 4, and if that is the case I would rather just get up instead of falling asleep again and THEN have struggle waking up. This way I have time to do more in the morning, which means less in the evening.

A great piece of advice for shoes, is go to a "proper" running store, and have them fit you for some shoes. They can see if you pronate, or overpronate, etc, and fit you for some nice running shoes. I did that and they fit me for some shoes and they were quite comfy. Turns out I need something called stability shoes with lots of support. And I agree with the others, all your activity makes me look lazy, lol. Keep on rockin', and have fun with the kids.

Great news about the drop in weight and also on your fabulous day! As to the shoes.... SEEeeeee! I am not the only one into shoes!! Hee! Hee! Look at the shoe discussions piling up in here. LOL! I have to agree with everyone, alas! The Converse are cute but not too practical. That is too much money to spend on shoes you don't like wearing. Get a good pair of cross trainers... white! You'll look great! They would be worth the money and great for standing, walking, jumping about as you surely must do because of all of your weight loss! :)
