Las Vegas Linda's Journal, 04 September 2016

Well a disappointing loss, but still a loss. I say disappointing only because this ketogenic (low carb) diet was so highly touted and except for the first weeks it seems no different than I was doing previously. The big difference is the severe reduction in carbs. Before I was eating lots of fruits, nuts and veggies and was still well within my calorie limits. I also ate a lot of yogurt. On this diet I was barely having any fruit at all and I so missed my protein shake also. I also lost a lot of what energy I had. So this week I am going to increase my carbs to at least 50 or more. I am adding back in my fruits and yogurt. If I am only going to lose 1 pound a week again then I'm going to do it eating my favorites of fruit and yogurt. Hope everyone is doing well this week.

I lost 15 pounds on the ketogenic diet last year and then hit a wall, I liked it, but once you slip a little it doesn't work unless you are PeeingPurple. Very hard to be around regular people when you are doing the high fats and explaining yourself. I have stayed at the same weight for 6 months now without PP, but have just had to change my diet due to having a stint put in my heart artery. Now eating fruit, veggie and whole wheat breads, and oatmeal, feel bloated and gained 2 pounds in the last three week. One thought for you, try peanut butter in your protein shake. Good luck.
