Re-energize's Journal, 17 August 2016

I have just learned a hard lesson about weight loss, the food you eat, quantity and types...
I was doing very well back in 2015 on the Atkins Diet, progressed very well and lost 44 lbs.
Then I got careless and decided I could and would eat like my husband as he eats anything he wants.... It was not bad at the beginning but gradually the pounds started creeping back on and the funny thing is you do not notice it right away but in time you see horrible results... I am so discouraged with myself as I was not far from my goal weight, all that hard work wasted...
Ive no one to blame but myself but learned some valuable lessons one is that you can't go back EVER. The thing that started this roller coaster ride was a cruise and Wow I just went with it cause I thought what the hang I have lost all this weight a little splurge won't hurt me, well it did and all those high carbs just piled back on very fast...So just a reminder to everyone out there you can loose all your desired weight but remember it goes on twice as fast if you think you can resume to eat as you did before dieting... I am a prime example of that...
So now I have to do something about it...Yes start all over again is #1, but I have to have that willpower after goal weight to keep in mind what happened with resuming to the same life style I had before, I must be disciplined and eat to live not live to eat...this is a big fight...we see others enjoying everything in sight but some of us cannot do that and I am one of them, heavy carbs are my enemy..I must continue to do a low carb diet and remain low carb even after maintenance, this is my body and I sure am going to work really hard to reach my goal and remain doing so..
It was a hard lesson learned and I am not proud of it and am basically ashamed of myself, as I was doing so well...So now I move forward to achieve my GOAL with no bumps or detours or distractions..I will stay focused to the end....HUSBAND has been told...LOL... Really it's not his fault I was the one who shoved the food in my mouth..lol...thought it was funny just to throw that in...poor fella always picked on...LOL

Thanks Maureen, it's a hard battle but I am certainly not a quitter, and that lesson was enough to hit hard...I will succeed... :)

BANG , I totally agree. I am on here to make a lifestyle eating change. I do not want to diet , lose a bunch of weight and then slowly put it back on, I feel your pain. My focus is learn to eat in the correct calorie range with a healthy mixture of carbs, fat and protein. Do it for life , get healthy forever.
