JockoT's Journal, 27 July 2016

Another gorgeous day here. I have been forgoing my morning walks this week, so as not to leave the felines on their own too long. I just take Madge to work then come home.
Lily has her first visit to the vet today. Jabs, worming, flea treatment and chipping. In a few more months she goes to get spayed.
Doing not too bad with my diet. I was a little over yesterday, but only to the tune of a fruit scone and half a bottle of Oasis. Both of which were surplus to plan. Hopefully today I can claw it back. Ostrich Steaks and Duck Eggs for dinner this evening.

Are the kitties getting on a little better now then?

Lucy came into the room this morning while Lily was sleeping on the settee. She had a good sniff round, but then Lily woke up, stood up, and Lucy hissed and walked out. Seems to be getting better all the time.

Ostrich and duck eggs. REALLY! I don't even know where I'd buy those! Sounds good to me.

Just my local Supermarket. I regularly buy the duck eggs but saw the Ostrich steaks and thought they were worth a try.

Wow, ostrich steaks. What did they taste like?

They taste like a smooth steak but not so strong flavour. It has a smooth texture to it as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've had ostrich YEARS ago, it's supposedly really healthy. After reading your post I looked to see where I could buy it. I learned a lot too, very interesting. Especially since I found a site that sold BOBCAT MEAT, and CAMEL! EWWW. HA. I'd have to order ostrich from a farm in New Jersey. The price was, 6 oz steak $12, and a 6 oz filet was 19.20. 6 oz is about 170 g. Just a little pricey for me. How is it sold in Scotland?
