O.K. so here I go....trying not to eat compulsively. Seems like I just continue to eat and eat, even when I am on a plan....

Make your first step logging everything you eat. It really does make a difference when you see it in black and white. And post your progress here, you will get lots of support.

Thank you...its so great I found this site. It is so hard, and I am board, and it seems I never get full. But I am really gonna give it a shot and write down everything. Ugghh here we go again Thank God I always keep on trucking and trying.

O.K. so yesterday I started and wrote down everything...agghhh and of course I went over the calories in order for me to loose says Fatsecret....I also committed to 8 glasses of water. Today I am starting off with 1 hardboiled egg ( usually much more) and just see how it goes throughout the day. I find that in order to be serious I must stop my social activities, because if I don't I could be going out every day with friends, for cocktails, or lunch or dinner...I am becoming a loner, but if I get to my goal, for once it would be worth it.

Welcome! I agree with Pandasmom that it helps a lot when you see the calories written down in black and white. My biggest lesson here was that losing weight is all about maths: how much calories I consume and how much I use. Seeing all these people's success here on Fatsecret really encourages me. Some simple advice, that I try to apply: only eat when you are really hungry. Wait till you feel the real hunger, not just the craving for eating. Also, eating slowly helps to enjoy the food and the feeling of being full. Enjoy the journey!

Thanks, its pretty shocking to see what a cup of pumpkin seeds turns out to be. I did not do my water but seems I did all else fine...keep trucking. For the gal that said STOP ...uggh that was paining....don't you think thats what its all about..oh well, the great thing is "keep on truckin" keep on trying.

uggh having a horrible time keeping it under....than I have to go to so cal for 5 days of visiting friends. Best friend dying of breast cancer...ugghh keep on trucking right?

How terribly sad! 😦 Don't count calories on your trip. Just don't eat any sugar, bread, or potatoes. That should keep you from gaining. So sorry to hear about your friend. 💔

Life can be so challenging. We eat when we feel stressed. You will get to a point where your improved eating habits will be your defense against the craziness of the pressures on us. Read up on Paleo; it focuses on stress reduction. Think of all of this as taking charge of your life and your health. The weight loss will follow.
