Bird Fancier's Journal, 01 June 2016

I can't seem to say no to certain things that I shouldn't be eating. I've been very upset this week. I guess I've been looking for comfort in all the wrong places...i.e. the freezer. A couple days ago on my nightly black widow kill...one of those SOB's bit me...scared the hell out of me. Luckily, it was near dead and it didn't invenomate me much. But, 3 days later my arm still stings. (Ofcourse I had to console myself with ice cream) Then I've been dealing with other personal disappointments. I can only handle so much and then my will power seems to drop. People at my house are not interested in being healthy or happy. I am surrounded with carb crap, bad habits, and stinky attitudes. The way I am treated is far worse than widow venom... I just want to be happy. I'm so thankful for my animals...they always love me...no matter what.

So sorry that you are going through so much right now. And the spider thing, YIKES! Get some air if the environment is too toxic. Get away from the kitchen, the house and spend more times with your animals. Find something healthy to help you pass this moment. Best wishes.

Just keep reminding yourself of your priorities. It's tough when you're in an environment like that, but don't use them as an excuse. That's too easy. Commit to YOU, and let that guide your decisions.

Yep, I've definitely been there my fair share (minus ze spider bite) but the important thing to remember is that you are still alive, and every day is another chance to make a change for the better. Sometimes when the environment is bad, the most important change is yourself. You may find that once you start mending yourself you'll radiate so much joy and positivity that all the stinkers around you will change as well. I'm sorry you're having a rough go of thangs. Sending you sparkles and sunshiiiiine and stuffs 💗

There will always be carb crap temptations...most of our society is built around this unhealthy food. Think donuts brought in to work, pizza Fridays, cake for anything we celebrate. If you stick to Atkins long enough you will start seeing the healthy choices...veggie trays, meat and cheese platters, sugar free jello. And after two weeks of induction an awful lot of the temptations won't bee calling out quite so loud. I agree with Christine...once you start taking care of yourself you will feel better and people will respond to that.
