Cancelled my gym membership today. I'm taking a week off from lifting and then joining a local powerlifting gym. After the memorial day crowds, I decided that I just couldn't deal with waiting in line to deadlift anymore. Iron empire here I come.

I quit Planet Fitness at the beginning of the year bc of the same crap. Amateurs and kids on their phones taking up the good machines and free weights. Im much happier now.

Also got sick of commercial gyms where they rather grunt, slam then weights, and flex in the mirrors instead of lifting with proper form. I've been going to smaller studio type gyms lately where the owners actually coach/train everyone not the people paying for training sessions like the franchise gyms. Costs a little more but it's worth the progress I've made.

I did that too recently.. Well, rather I still have my old gym membership for cardio and classes and such, but I joined a powerlifting gym. Now I never have to worry about getting a squat rack and its great!
