Penlan's Journal, 30 April 2016

I feel fat today.

I suppose maybe there is a whoosh round the corner. I hope so anyway.

I wobble and my belly muffin roll lardy stuff cascades over my trews at the sides. Sure they are the trews I couldn't get on this time last year, a 14 skinny fit. They are baggy in the leg and loose round the middle now. But still the squishy stuff finds a way to remind me that there is a goodly way yet to go.

That's good. I wouldn't want to rest on my laurels just cos the used-to-be-too-small-trousers are now a bit loose. They are still a 14 after all!!

And if my weigh in tomorrow is heavy on the scales it will add to the motivation. A week post show should have ironed out any show induced blip.

For everything you've achieved so far - congrats! Feel good about those loose 14s. Cherish every one of those little moments, those little reminders of how far you've come - they can help you get through those "Where's my whoosh?!" days. :)

We all have days like that. They are usually interspersed by days when you look in the mirror and your Dad/Mum is looking back at you. It is just a case of grin and bear it. There are better days to come.

The really frightening thing the other day was that my grandmother was looking back at me..... Thanks for the upport folkd. It's not that I feel bad about feeling fat, it;s just an interesting phenomenon. A reminder that sure I have still got quite a way to go. I have been heavier and felt slimmer along the way. I suppose it's what happens on a plateau - we get used to being in our skin as we have longer to settle in it rather than be passing through. I am ok being on a plateau too. I have noticed that while my belly was wrinkly and my inner things had a sort of cascading ripple effect as I looked down on them, (sorry tmi I know) they are now looking and feeling much more 'normal' so I guess the skin has caught up. Then it will all creep down again - it better had - and I will be back on track. Softly softly catch your monkey. It's a bit like catching a tricksy sheep. Look her in the eye and she knows you are coming. Look at another and catch her unawares works best. Same with weight loss in part for me. Yes, I have come a long way. I am happy :D :D :D The skinny fit 14s are new and I want to get some wear from them after all (rofl). It's all good. All good.
