Anita Cocktail's Journal, 16 November 2009

I haven't been a great correspondant...I suppose because I'm feeling frustrated. I'm down almost 3 lbs. today after weeks of being stuck but I have the sneaking feeling those 2 1/2 lbs will be back to haunt me tomorrow.

So, let me throw out a couple questions to you guys - have you hit a rut? How did you get out of it? Lastly, I've been wondering if, despite sticking to WW, I might not be taking in enough calories - any thoughts?

Thanks for the support!

I think your calorie intake is OK, but what exercise are you doing? Truthfully, I've never really hit a platu because of all the cardio I do. Yeah, there has been maybe one or two weeks (in the past 2 years) that I've stuck to my plan, and I've either not lost or actually gained. For me, it was because I was either not eating enough calories, or I just gained muscle from all my cardio. Try to work in some fast pased walking, two days in a row, one day off, two days in a row, one day off, etc. See what happens!!!

Maybe also try cutting down on your carbs. Its something I have a hard time doing, but it may really help you.

I haven't been the best about logging it lately but I'm exercising 5 days a week...2 days lifting, 3 days of killer cardio on the elliptical. I think that's a good idea though - rather than doing cardio, lift, cardio, lift, cardio I'll try doing back to back days of cardio. You're right about the carbs too...I probably need more protein as well. Thanks for the assist!
